I stand Corrected, Kind of...

I stand corrected... Not is a harsh way, of course, but after my last post, I was directed to a number of Christian books on the subject of peacemaking. I have them on my bookshelf and am looking foward to reading them. I also realize that they are many Christian traditions emphasizing pacifism which include many writting about the pursuit and dedication to peace. I look foward to discovering more of them. I am so thankful to the mennonite traditions who originally openned my eyes to Jesus teachings of peace.

However, I am still not sure that I am satisfied. Perhaps it is because I am so intruiged by reading a "secular" book on peace-making, or the fact that most Christian liturature focuses on individual relationships.

What does peace-making look like in a social context? What does it mean for Christians in politics? What is our responsibility if any in the world's conflicts? What do peace-making or bridgebuidling have to do with the Kingdom and how does it fit into social justice? These are the questions I am formulating.

At the same time, I am also focusing on my sphere of influence. How do I speak positively and truthfully to divided people or situations. What is my view of conflict, do I simply want others to change...or is there a deeper goal
