A day off...Here we go...

Its amazing what a true day off can mean. Yesterday, I had the day off. I usually have wednesday's off due to the sports schedule at Breakthrough. However since before Christmas I have not truly taken a full day.

Yesterday I did. Ashley had a snow day at work, and the two of us spent the day settling into our new home, cleaning out the car, buying cleaning supplies at Target, and watching American Idol.

It's funny, nothing there seems spiritual, but I feel a renewed vigor to think, to pray, and to my readers delight (or chagrin) t o write!!

Rest is spiritual, highly spiritual, and in our culture it is very hard to find. Anyone have thoughts on the Sabbath, the need for rest, Sabbath economics, or American Idol? I would liove to hear from you!

Its good to be back!

I love having a day off. I mean not just a day off from both work and school, which in itself is rare, but a day off with no errands to run and no specific time to get up. This really never happens for me. Perhaps this is why I miss school once in a while or dont make it to the morning service at church sometimes.

Perhaps therein lies a good message: Schedule some time off or your other priorities will be compromised.

I love American Idol. I love singing so I enjoy the program. I usually watch it with my grandma and we vote. Fun family time.

These are my Sabbath thoughts. :) We need rest! I think the Lord rested on the seventh day as an example for us. I don't think it needs to be on a specific day, though, as long as we make it a priority. Jesus is our Sabbath rest (I forget the scripture for that - sorry! :) ).

The entire next issue of "Spirit of Revival" is on the need to make time in our hectic pace for rest, relaxation and reflection. Should be out some time in March/April.
